THE TOMAS HIRSCHFELD SCHOLAR AND FACSS STUDENT AWARDS More details are available on the Awards Page, email scix@scixconference.org with questions. The traditional deadline is the same as the oral abstract deadline. COBLENTZ STUDENT AWARDS: The Coblentz Society is soliciting nominations of outstanding students for the Coblentz Student Awards. Graduate or undergraduate students who have shown excellence in vibrational spectroscopy and/or coursework including vibrational spectroscopy may be nominated. The nominator must be a member of the Coblentz Society. For additional information visit the Coblentz website. The traditional deadline is January or February of the same calendar year as SciX. The 2025 deadline has passed. SAS STUDENT POSTER AWARDS: A competition for SAS students who are presenting authors at the SciX Conference and will be held and recognition for four outstanding posters will be given. The judging will take place on Sunday evening. All SAS students should put up their posters on Sunday evening before the opening mixer as well as on their assigned presentation day. Student SAS members must select the appropriate box on the on-line paper submission form to ensure they are considered. Student awardees will receive a free 1-year SAS membership and a plaque highlighting their achievement. SAS UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL GRANT: The SAS Undergraduate Student Travel Grant helps to support undergraduate student attendance at SciX. The award is based upon merit and financial need, and students must present a paper at the SciX conference in order to qualify. More details are available on the Awards Page. AES BLUE FINGERS STUDENT AWARD: The AES Student Award recognizes the most outstanding student paper submitted for the AES Annual Conference by a graduate student at the time of application. The award recipient needs to be an AES member will receive financial support ($500*) to attend the AES Annual Conference; the financial support can be used to cover registration, transportation, accommodations, and meals. The winner may also sign up to volunteer at the SciX meeting in exchange for complimentary registration (a volunteer spot is reserved for the AES Blue Fingers Student Award Winner). In order for their presentation to be considered for the AES ‘Blue Fingers’ Student Award, students should submit their abstract as an oral-or-poster type, or a poster type, during the SciX open call for abstracts. When submitting their abstract students must select the option regarding participation in the student AES poster competition in order to be eligible; the awardee will give a 20 minute oral presentation at the AES Annual Conference. The Poster of the winning student will also be featured on the AES website.
